Jacob Sanders - Series Producer/Director

In “These Things Sell Themselves,” I wanted to explore the idea of alternative marketplaces and the Internet of Things. There is such little regulatory scrutiny around IOT products and the interconnected gadgetry we BlueTooth and tether into our home networks.

Marketers need to be cognizant of the ways their work interfaces with society – we do not act in a bubble. The marketplaces we build in our professional lives, become the marketplaces we inhabit in our life away from work.

I also wanted to explore the socioeconomic disparity that technology can create in society. Before I wrote the screenplay, I had this vision of an insanely well-paid advertiser, complaining to a custodian about being marginalized by bots, and slowly this script came to life.
